Albert
Street
Albert
Street remains one of Durham's most architecturally interesting
and original streets. It lies just off the busy shopping area
of North Road, which itself leads down to the river banks
and central market square.
Explore
the City and the County
Historical sites such as Durham
Cathedral and castle are only ten to fifteen minutes
walk and both the Oriental
Museum and Botanic
Garden can also be reached easily on foot.
Ideal
for visiting the award winning Beamish
Open Air Museum, County Cricket at the Durham
County Cricket Club at Chester-le-Street and
you can take to the country in the nearby Durham
Dales.
The region has many small villages and is also home to the
John and Josephine Bowes
Museum at Barnard
Castle, and the mediaeval stronghold of Raby
Castle with it's deer park is well worth a visit.
